A-cero: architecture studio

Founded in 1996 by Joaquín Torres (born 1969) and Rafael Llamazares (born 1970), A-cero is an architecture studio based in Spain whose work centres on the complete development of architectural projects. Led by Joaquín Torres and his partner Rafael Llamazares, the team has grown to more than 60 professionals across Spain, Dubai and the Dominican Republic.

A method built on analysis and consistency

A-cero's way of working rests on a detailed analysis of the client's needs and the brief for each project: "we imagine, we design, we persuade", as the two founders put it. Both say they value consistency and daily work as the path towards perfection. Amusingly, each of them separately names a Mies van der Rohe piece as his favourite object: the Barcelona daybed for Rafael Llamazares, the Barcelona chair for Joaquín Torres, a telling nod to their shared admiration for modernist design.

Collections designed by A-cero for Vondom

For Vondom, A-cero designed the Vondom Wing collection, born from folding straight and curved lines blended in a dynamic way, and the Vondom Rest collection, inspired by the Japanese art of origami and built around the "less is more" philosophy.
