Javier Mariscal
Furnishing contemporary living spaces calls for constant thought about function and form. It is with this in mind that the celebrated creator Javier Mariscal designed the Vondom Noma collection for the Spanish brand, a series that shakes up the traditional codes of design. The founding idea of this range is the ingenious fusion of two types of object that are usually separate: the flower pot and the outdoor table. From this union comes an innovative concept with strong visual originality and complete versatility, turning each piece into a functional sculpture that can enhance a private terrace as well as a large contract project.
Sculptural architecture at the heart of the Noma range
Javier Mariscal's creative process resembles an artistic exploration in which the initial sketches, inspired by natural forms, gradually evolved into a more architectural structure. The silhouettes of the tables, stools and seats thus evoke the nobility of an ancient column topped by its capital. This distinctive aesthetic answers a fundamental question asked by the designer: how do we sit today? The answer unfolds across three distinct settings suited to every moment of life. The low version invites relaxation in a "chill-out" atmosphere, completed by a particularly comfortable ottoman pouf. The intermediate height suits standard seating for meals or conversation, while the high version is ideal for enjoying a glass of wine, standing or perched on a bar stool, creating an interesting vertical dynamic in the space.
Technical innovation and versatility by Noma
Beyond the provocative yet innocent aesthetic typical of Mariscal's language, this series stands out for its technical quality. Every element, from the champagne bucket to the Mellizas planters, is made using the industrial rotomoulding process. Rotomoulded polyethylene resin gives the pieces remarkable resistance to weather and UV rays, while allowing a wide variety of bright colours that bring instant freshness. This sturdiness makes the furniture well suited to intensive use, indoors or outdoors. The whole set pairs naturally with light-up pieces such as the Mora or Blanca lamps, enhancing the staging of your night-time layouts.
If you are drawn to Javier Mariscal's artistic world but are looking for even more fluid, organic forms to soften the architecture of your terrace, we invite you to discover the Vondom Sabinas collection.
