In Macau, the Morpheus Hotel stands as a work of art. Imagined by Zaha Hadid Architects, this building with its great twisted geometric façade can be spotted from anywhere in the city, an instantly recognisable signature.
A vision by Zaha Hadid Architects
The hotel combines optimal organisation, structural integrity and sculptural form. According to Viviana Muscettola, project director at ZHA, the design intrigues in the way it summons modern architectural typologies, an openly acknowledged nod to modernity.

Architecture in motion
Forty storeys high, the building is made up of two circulation cores that join at the base via a podium, separate, then merge again at roof level. This structural choreography gives the Morpheus its distinctive dynamism.

Vertex chairs at the heart of the lobby
At the centre of the hotel, the lobby is home to Vertex chairs by Karim Rashid. The space takes on modernity, elegance and sophistication, in perfect harmony with the sculptural ambition of the place.

A lived-in work of art
Like every project developed by Zaha Hadid Architects, the Morpheus is experienced as a work of art in its own right. The Vertex chairs find their natural place here: pieces whose plasticity answers the boldness of the building.
