Description

Tulum chair: a strict line softened by the curve

Eugeni Quitllet builds this chair around a simple principle: start from a rigorously linear frame, then soften each angle so that nothing looks hard to the eye. The result belongs to the Vondom Tulum collection, designed to bring the comfort of an interior into a garden or a private terrace.

The interplay of solid and void

The Catalan designer has built his career on this almost sculptural tension between full volumes and open spaces. On this chair, the generous seat contrasts with the lightness of the base, for a silhouette that stays visually airy even when several are gathered around a large family table.

Wood that ages with character

The Indonesian teak armrests, a species known for its natural resistance to the elements, develop a silver-grey patina over time under the effect of sun and humidity, rather than unsightly wear. This change is part of the material's charm, provided a few simple care steps are followed to preserve it over time. The aluminium structure, resistant to impact and corrosion, takes in its stride the frequent moves of a garden rearranged from meal to meal and season to season.
