A hybrid venue in the heart of Prague
In Prague, the Star Igloo plays on a rare duality. By day, people stop by for a quick coffee or a late brunch, as in a Scandinavian coffee shop. At night, the same space is transformed into a cocktail bar under sculptural lighting. This dual purpose called for furniture able to support both uses without any break in atmosphere.
Vondom provides the entire outdoor layout, using four collections from as many different designers. The bold bet is to create visual coherence despite this diversity of authors. The result holds together thanks to a common thread: the organic line.
The Stones collection, mineral inspiration as an art
At the heart of the scheme is the Stones collection, designed for Vondom by Stefano Giovannoni and Elisa Gargan. The name says it all: the pieces borrow their forms from pebbles, from stones polished by time, from the soft silhouettes found in nature. Sofas, armchairs and coffee tables seem to have emerged from a rocky landscape, with not a single edge to break the serenity of the design.
This mineral inspiration is particularly welcome in an open-air café. It brings a touch of nature into an urban setting and encourages the contemplative posture you expect from a quality terrace.

The Fiesta bar and Wing stools
For the service function, the project relies on the Fiesta modular bar, designed by the studio Archirivolto Design. This line, designed for hospitality, makes it possible to organise service by day and by night, with a pared-back geometry that fades into the background in favour of the customer experience.
Alongside the Fiesta are the stools from the Wing collection, designed by A-cero. The Madrid studio founded by Joaquín Torres and Rafael Llamazares plays with the fusion of straight lines and curves, producing a dynamic, almost sculptural silhouette. The Wing stools bring the vertical energy that structures the bar visually.

Bloom lamps, Eugeni Quitllet's lighting signature
The shift from day to night is orchestrated by the Bloom lamps, designed by Eugeni Quitllet. The Catalan designer speaks of a night flower that would open at sunset and reinvent itself at dawn. The poetry of the concept translates into a soft, almost organic light that transforms the perception of the place from dusk onwards.
This lighting signature is probably the project's most emblematic gesture. It ensures continuity between the two uses of the Star Igloo and adds an extra emotional layer to a setting already full of intent.

Four authors, one conversation
The Star Igloo illustrates an approach we particularly appreciate at Verano Design: composing a setting from designer pieces rather than furnishing with a single collection. Each designer's signature remains legible, but the whole forms a harmonious score, thanks to the consistency of the Vondom catalogue.
For a coffee shop or bar with strong decorative ambition, this curated approach makes all the difference. The furniture is no longer merely functional: it becomes the very reason people come. In Prague, Star Igloo has understood this perfectly.
