In Gliwice, Poland, the Black House is far more than a head office. A model smart home and the headquarters of the company APA, it explores the most innovative uses of the connected building. Its terrace is one of its most appealing spaces.
Vondom outdoor design furniture was chosen to create a place where staff can relax and talk throughout the day. The Spanish brand, synonymous with avant-garde luxury, has won over lovers of modern design around the world in just a few years.

A terrace in two zones
The space is divided into two moods. The first, devoted to relaxation, hosts Vondom outdoor furniture in an atmosphere that invites you to unwind. The second, more surprising, houses a hive of 80,000 bees, greenhouses tended by an agricultural robot, a weather station and renewable energy sources.
The relaxation zone, signed Karim Rashid
In the relaxation area, the sun loungers from the Surf collection and the Pal planters, designed by Karim Rashid, set the tone. Their fluid, colourful lines, the designer's signature, bring a joyful, contemporary energy to the terrace.

The coffee zone around Quartz and Kes
The coffee area brings together tables from the Quartz collection by Ramón Esteve and chairs from the Kes collection, designed by the Buratti brothers. It is a duo that matches the geometric restraint of the tables with the lightness of the seating.

Working in the age of the smart home
With the Black House, APA imagines a working environment where technology, nature and design move forward together. On the terrace, Vondom furniture adds the sensitive touch that makes this manifesto liveable: a place to take a break, between a connected hive and a sun lounger by Karim Rashid.
